Country Specific CDR Initiatives

The focus in Germany on CDR is summarised in the German wikipedia entry on CDR.

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_Digital_Responsibility

The Corporate Digital Responsibility (CDR)  initiative of the German Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV) was launched in 2018. It is similarly looking at the measures organisations should take to drive digital evolution in an appropriate and ethical way, working in conjunction with organisations such as SAP, Deutsche Telekom, Otto Group and Miele.

There is a good overview of the programme here

https://www.bmjv.de/SharedDocs/Downloads/DE/News/Artikel/100818_CDR-Initiative_EN.pdf?__blob=publicationFile&v=3

There are an increasing number of other references to CDR are also only in German businesses and Associations , for example

Ethos Fund, which manages pension funds for a large number of Swiss companies has made a strong commitment to CDR.

"For Ethos, corporate digital responsibility is now an integral part of good corporate governance and the ESG criteria which an investor must take into account when making investment decisions." https://www.ethosfund.ch/sites/default/files/2020-11/EngagementPaper_ResponsabiliteNumerique_EN_FINAL.pdf

Really interesting and broad ranging initiative  bringing together many of the focus areas of CDR and Digital Ethics, though without referencing CDR specifically.

There is relatively little on CDR emerging out of the US at the moment. However, I do like these articles by Tim Frick (MightyBytes) https://www.mightybytes.com/blog/what-is-corporate-digital-responsibility/, leading to further articles on

Much of the UK focus is on the separate elements of CDR, rather than the term itself. Significant work around Digital Ethics, Data Ethics and Digital for Sustainability (see below)

However, in 2021, Allegory produced their paper and research on CDR from a PR perspective https://allegoryagency.co.uk/corporate-digital-responsibility/

At the start of 2022, Eversheds Sutherland, a legal firm published a lengthy report on CDR here https://www.eversheds-sutherland.com/global/en/what/publications/digitalization/index.page
